Privacy
braḥ is built around a single commitment: your conversations stay on infrastructure we control. This page describes how that works in practice, in plain terms.
The short version
- Your conversations are not sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any other AI provider.
- The AI that replies to you runs on servers we operate.
- What braḥ remembers about you is stored on a server we control in the European Union.
- We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.
- You can delete your account and everything in it, at any time, from inside the app.
What we collect
Account information. When you sign in, we receive your email address and a unique account identifier from your sign-in provider (Apple or Google).
Your conversations. The messages you send and the replies braḥ gives are stored so that your conversations persist between sessions.
Memory. braḥ extracts short factual notes from your conversations — the kind of things a friend would remember — and stores them so it can recall them later. This is what makes braḥ useful over time.
We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, or device identifiers for advertising.
Where your data lives
The AI model. braḥ runs its own language model on dedicated GPU infrastructure. Your messages are processed there and are not retained by the model — it has no memory of its own.
Your memories. These are stored on a server we operate in the European Union. That server accepts no inbound connections from the public internet; it is reachable only through a private, authenticated channel from our own application. It is not a shared or managed service.
Your account and conversations. These are stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore).
We use no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from within the app at any time. Deletion is permanent and removes:
- every memory braḥ has stored about you
- all of your chats and messages
- your profile
- your sign-in record
Each of these is verified as removed before the deletion is reported as complete.
Backups. We keep encrypted backups so that a technical failure cannot destroy users' data. When you delete your account, your data is removed immediately from all live systems. Copies may remain in backups until those backups expire on their normal rotation — up to 30 days for memory backups, and up to one year for full system backups. We do not restore deleted accounts from backups, and we do not extract individual records from them.
Your rights
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to request a copy of it. You may exercise any of these by writing to hello@brah.chat.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
How long we keep things
Your conversations and memories are kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, they are removed as described above. We do not retain conversation data after deletion for analytics or any other purpose.
Children
braḥ is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, write to hello@brah.chat and we will remove it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. The server holding your memories is firewalled, accepts no public inbound connections, and is accessible only through an authenticated private channel. Backups are encrypted and stored separately.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. We have designed braḥ so that the most sensitive thing it holds — what it remembers about you — sits on infrastructure we control rather than someone else's.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects how your data is handled, we will notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
